Sorry it's been a long day so I possibily misread the article buttt…
I think you're suggesting either a tag cloud, or something like the way ebay does its ebaywiki <sup></sup> I really like the way that they've created the side bars with the topics (buying, selling, etc)
And any wiki's I've been to with these functionality I found extremely useful
